She borrows from birds, and
golden pom-poms tassels,
with ruby delight eyes, and
a Dutch collar witty,
often more splat

In a back lane, a ramp to the parking garage
underneath the apartment block, a Pink Fandango
struts ‘n coos ‘n carries on about her
loves on her sleeves of pink ramparts
for all t'sees.
Dogwood, Cornus Florida
Dogwood, Cornus Florida

There is this most gracious Dogwood,
Cornus Florida, in Rosedale, behind

La Luna #1
digital image, 6" x 4", 300dpi
A smit of mist veils the view
her power potent and provident
the act already complete
now darkly lit.

Ere she can set to die
the fungi pull the spirit
from the wood
and set it free
to explore what it means

Worlds live in her clefts
unaware of t’other
conceive naught but their own.
The south arid dry want.
The north wet bountiful.
I am a flat site plateau.
The edge is only something I imagine.
